The first piece of work that i needed to complete to start of my task of making a film was to research the codes and conventions of a romantic drama, which is the genre of the film i am making. I had some idea of what romantic drama films include but i wanted to do some more research to get a better understanding of the genre.
now that i have done this research i feel that i have a better understanding of romantic dramas and i have started to think up some ideas as to what i can do to fit my film to these codes.
from this re-search in have learnt that romantic dramas have a range of different plot outlines the lead to the first meeting of the male and female character. these meetings can be fate of planned. i have chosen to make the meeting in my film down to fate as this keeps the magic of love evident in my film. also i have learnt that props are used as a way of transition between scenes. in my film i will use a picture to transport the viewer from the real world to the flashback in my film.
